I like reading about seashells and beehives because of the romantic way they reflect humanity. A foreign substance slips into an oyster shell, and irritates it enough to create a pearl. Bivalves break apart and hermit crabs wear second hand mollusk shells. Just as soon as a virgin queen bee wakes up, she races across the comb, looking for other virgin queens to kill.
